Angelina Jolie (originally Angelina
Jolie Voight) is an American actress and director, famous for her sexy appeal,
edginess and her humanitarian work. Jolie, the daughter and actor Jon Voight,
was raised in New York. After her growing up, she relocated to Los Angeles,
where she was the character of a mental patient in Girl, interrupted (1999).

was then accepted into Beverly Hills High School. New York University later
taught her drama. She also performed in theater productions and modelled for
music videos. It was in Hackers (1995) when Jolie got to know Jonny Lee Miller,
a British actor (married 1996; divorcing 1999). As with several subsequent
films, this one did not find an audience. In 1997, however, Jolie gained a lot
of notice for her performance as the wife of Alabama's segregationist governor
in the TV film George Wallace, and she later was awarded an award called the
Golden Globe Award for her performance. In the HBO film Gia the actress played
a supermodel suffering from drug addiction. The actress was awarded numerous
honors as well as an award of the Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild
Award. After her Oscar-winning performance in Girl, Interrupted, Jolie made an appearance
in Pushing Tin, a comedy featuring John Cusack, Billy Bob Thornton and Billy

carjacker (Nicolas Cage) in Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000) and later changed her
accent to an accent that resembled a British accent and mastered the art of
street fighting and kickboxing for the roles of the title in Lara Croft: Tomb
Raider (2001) and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003). Jolie

with Jude Law and Gwyneth paltrow in Sky Captain: The World of Tomorrow which
is a suspense film that is set in the 1930s in New York City. Both films were
disappointing at the box office, but Jolie's Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
was the biggest success. Jolie played a character acting as a normal domestic
worker while working on the movie. Brad Pitt became her partner in the film.
